Aqualis® ENTEC® Solub 21 – Nitrate Nitrogen


ENTEC Solub 21 is an inhibited water soluble ammonium sulfate fertilizer. It is maximizing nitrogen use efficiency for better crop quality and yield.

Aqualis® ENTEC® Solub fertilizers inhibit nitrosomonas bacteria, which is transforming ammonia into nitrite (nitrification). This inhibition allows Nitrogen to remain in the soil for longer time. Thus, plants obtain both forms of mineral nitrogen, ammonium and nitrate, over a prolonged period.

Crops benefit from mixed nitrogen nutrition with limited risks of nitrogen loss to the environment.

Aqualis® ENTEC® Solub 21 – Properties
  • Reduced loss of nitrogen and optimum ammonium / nitrate balance mean that Aqualis® ENTEC® solub fertilizers provide more nitrogen for crop uptake.
  • The uptake of nitrogen as ammonium lowers pH in the root zone, favouring the uptake of phosphorus and some microelements, which are more readily available at acidic pH levels. This results in increased root formation and better nutrient assimilation, which also contributes to increased yields.
  • Ammonium uptake promotes synthesis of some plant hormones (gibberellins, cytokinins and polyamines), responsible for flowering, ensuring greater setting, which translates into increased yields.
  • Aqualis® ENTEC® solub fertilizers can also improve certain aspects of crop quality, such as reduced nitrate content of leaves and fruit, a more uniform size and increased consistency, colour and conservation.
  • Applying Aqualis® ENTEC® solub fertilizers reduces both nitrate leaching and the emission of nitrogen gases into the atmosphere.
